Doing good for our city and ourselves

Our company success is thanks to our people, which is why we’re supporting our team to feel better and do better during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Knowing how well a bit of fresh air and exercise can do for our bodies and minds, our team committed to getting outside and walking, running or cycling as many miles as we could in February, while raising some money for an important local cause.

For every mile covered, Maverex agreed to make a donation to StreetZero, a local charity on a mission to end rough sleeping in Newcastle for good by 2022. With more people facing homelessness during the COVID-19 lockdown, their work reduced rough sleeping by 74% in Newcastle and prevented 189 people from becoming homeless between January 2020 and January 2021.

Throughout February, we covered more than 1,100 miles - or the equivalent walking distance from our office in Newcastle all the way to Milan!
